Install alongside OpenCode Desktop.
A native side panel for OpenCode Desktop2.2.5. The GUI plugin API is version-specific.
Prefer agent-assisted installation? Paste one URL into your coding agent.
Install
- Confirm Desktop version 2.2.5 and an already connected working model.
- Download and unzip the OpenCode distribution from DontDumb.
- Run Install DontDumb for OpenCode.app and restart OpenCode.
- Open a project and coding chat, run
/dontdumb, then choose Turn learning on.
The installer copies the compiled payload to a private versioned directory and backs up the OpenCode configuration. It changes only DontDumb’s plugin entry and preserves host model settings and unrelated plugins.
Controls
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Open Learn | /dontdumb or ⌘⇧L |
| Enable and open | /dontdumb on |
| Disable | /dontdumb off |
| Stop all learning | /dontdumb stop |
There is no separate Codex-style hook-trust step. OpenCode manages plugin permissions.
Model access
The learning harness uses a separate learning session through OpenCode’s existing model connection. That connection may itself be API-backed; DontDumb does not request a new key. Additional tokens follow the existing provider’s allowance/billing. If coding works but learning fails, select an available learning model in Learn settings.
Desktop versus terminal UI
This distribution supports the Desktop side panel. Terminal UI/TUI is not supported; use a supported GUI for rich interactive tools. Mobile is not included.
Update or remove
Finish active work, rerun the matching installer and restart. To remove, remove DontDumb’s plugin entry through the host configuration/plugin controls and restart. Preserve unrelated entries. Shared learner memory remains local and can be exported before changes.
