Install alongside Claude.app Code.
The bundled local module lets the learning harness use your selected Code session’s existing subscription connection.
Supported session
Use Code in Claude.app with a local project. General chat, Cowork and cloud execution are not part of this distribution. The host may open Learn externally when it does not expose an embedded browser-opening capability.

Install
- Download and unzip the Claude installer from DontDumb.
- Run Install DontDumb for Claude.app.
- Restart Claude.app, enable the plugin, and complete normal hook/module review.
- Start a new local Code session so the module loads.
Connect Learn
- Select the dontdumb plugin command, or run
/dontdumb:dontdumb. - In Learn, select the connected coding session and choose Watch this chat.
The session bridge is the default. It does not require a separate terminal login. If the session is missing, confirm the plugin is enabled, start a new local Code session and refresh chats.
Your existing model connection
The local bridge runs learning requests through the selected Code session. It does not send code to a DontDumb backend or model. Selected context reaches your existing model provider and consumes subscription usage. A separate Claude subscription login is an optional explicit fallback, not an automatic switch to API billing.
Pause, update and remove
Use Learn’s off/pause controls; closing only hides the panel. Reopen with the plugin command. Update/remove through Claude’s plugin manager and restart sessions to unload older code. Local learner memory is separate from the installed bundle.
